Write Everyday...

I think that Kate Mosse's advice to write at least a sentence is day is just what I have needed to hear for a long time. I wrote about that in my last entry. Tiffany, I agree with you. I am in dire need of a grammar refresher course. I keep thinking of how often I use passive voice and how much I stink when it comes to placing commas in the correct place...so just how do we fix this?

First lesson

What do you think about it?

Lesson 1:Write everyday

So Kate Mosse's first lesson is that we need to write something, even if it be a mere sentence long everyday. So let's try it out for a week.

Brooke is whining and hanging onto my legs. I think she is tired. I spent entirely too much time at the computer today. Trent and Josef are not sleeping even though I bribed them with a sucker. I think the sucker bribe has lost its power. I need a grammer course refresher. I used to be so good at grammer and spelling but everything has fallen apart as my mind drifts in the realm of motherhood. It just sucks the life out of your brain.

Hey Nicole, do you know there was a writer from the South, can't remember her name in the late 1800's who had 8 kids and wrote short stories. She was very brilliant. When I remember her name, I'll pass it on.
I am pretty excited to start this blog with Tiffany and follow these exercises by Kate Mosse. I recently found a binder from one of my honor's writing classes in high school. I went through the binder and I found several useful pointers and ideas for me to write about. I failed to write this summer because I was busy and easily tired, but I read in a book a few days ago that if you want to become a writer, it's crucial to write EVERYDAY even if you don't feel like it. Waiting for inspiration won't help anyone write. I may not write on the blog everyday, but I will write in other places like my journal or story drafts. Tiffany writes everyday and she is always busy. She is a natural writer. Wish us luck with the exercises!

Writing Exercises

I've started this blog with my sister to help encourage Nicole to hone her writing craft. She has big aspirations. We are going to work on the writing exercises from Kate Mosse the author of The Labyrinth at the following website:
